Those warn winches are REALLY expensive. Has anyone bought an aftermarket winch and installed it on their SPortsman? I saw some for sale on ebay for $50 to $100.

I cant afford to drop $500 on a warn winch.

A friend of mine bought one of the ones from HARBOR FRIEGHT for $50 and installed it on his 04 Sportsman 500ho but he has the controller just dangling from the front of his wheeler. According to him and some friends of his it has worked well and got him unstuck from a couple of hairy places.

Just wondering.

Thanks.

Elkbow, you should post those on Photobucket or something and put it in your sig or bookmark the address for when people need it.

Milemarker PE2500

and
KFI mount

I got a deal at 4 wheel parts over the summer, so it cost me a little more than $200
This is the exact setup I have and it works mint.

Just a second thought, My setup is nice and clean like the stock warn winch that polaris offers. On ebay they do have the venom winches, but the mount that they have, looks a little sloppy in my opinion. Just keep in mind that if you buy a winch from harbor frieght or something you will still need a mount.

Anyone please send me the instructions for the Warn Winch install. Mine only has the general install info. Please hook me up with the Polaris Pre Wired Instructions.
Thanks a Million,
Dave.
