DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS SOUND? When my Polaris is put into any gear forward or reverse, as soon as I give it some throttle to go I hear a clunck... Could this be a u-joint in the drive train? Once it's rolling I hear nothing.

Good morning Noble, The sound is not the same sound described on several other post related to a suspension issue. This is more of a drive shaft or u-joint as soon as the wheels engage after shifting. I am running it down to Motorsports tonight for a check up. We do alot of riding in PA down around Uniontown and I don't like the thought of breaking down. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Gat, it is a drive line clunk. When you let off the thrittle and hit it again, there will be a clunk sound. Polaris told me its due to the military specs they set the drive line at. They want easy repair for the army in the field so there is a little " slop" in it for this reason. It will not hurt anything. My 500's do it and all the 700's I've rode does it too.

Noble, That sounds more like what I am hearing...thank you. I will let it go and just enjoy the ride. Is there anything on the 700's or Polaris in general that needs special attention as far as maintenance goes?
