what do you guys suggest I run for clutch setup with my Xplorer 250 4x4 I have a cyclone jug .080 over .020 milled head a 400 scrambler carb, scylone intake boot and
stock pipe and gearing 3000 foot elevation if it matters

weights
primary spring
helix
secondary spring

right now I'm running stock clutch setup except scrambler helix and primary spring and it seems pretty much slow or at least maginally better than stock

With the stock pipe you shouldnt have to change the weights or the helix. A good secondary spring such as the HPD violet will be great. Check the clutch buttons and replace if worn down. I need to know what primary spring you have in it. if it is the blue/green then put a stock 400 white spring in it. lightly sand the clutch faces with some 400 girt sandpaper and use some brake cleaner to clean it all off making sure it is grease free. Get a manual if you dont have one and check the belt tolerances. A belt replacement can sometimes fix a multitude of problems. hope this helps, Bubba

Hey Bubba dont you think the HPD violet is a little heavy for a 250?I would go to a Polaris gold secondary. The violet is like the Aaen blue which I am fond of in the bigger bikes.THe white primary spring is great in a 250 or anything close to stock.

do you think the scylone jug and 400 carb are helping much or would a pipe be the way to go??
I haven't seen any pipes listed for the Xplorer 4x4 with consentic drive?

Check Dynoport http://www.dynoport.com/ THese pipes are great for lowend power on up and you use stock clutching.

I thought about the gold, but considering he has the cyclone jug (which makes more power, not to mention it is .080 over for more cc's) and a milled head to boot I decided to say the violet. He can set it to the 1-1 position instead of the 2-2 to start with.

I run the stock Cyclone clutching in my Xplorer conversion. Much better over Xplorer clutching. Aaen makes a pipe to fit your Xplorer, you need to call them for info. It's not on the website. It does have a melting plastic issue. I think I need to have the flywheel shaved as well. I have not weighed them to compare, but I think the Xplorer may have a heavier flywheel than most the other 250s. I run the stock Cyclone carb and intake boot.

Are you talking about having 3/16 of distance from the belt to the top of the secondary? If so a new belt may be in order, if not I guess I am not following you well enough.
