I don't know what your talking about either because the only thing that has 6 bolts in it is the cover piece with the polaris logo.. oh yea thats what your talking about. Look at the diagram. The part that looks like a triangle that has the #6 buttons in it. I wanna take that out of the far right piece.

Lp your working on the primary clutch from what I can tell. The buttons you have are the way to keep the moving parts inline as the clutch comes in to grab the belt. The brass bushing also aids in this. When you take the 6 bolts out of the clutch back them out evenly and remember you're unleashing the primary spring. also note that there is 2 X's one on the plate you are removing and one on the sheave, line those up during reassembly. When you get in ther you'll find the buttons rollers and the small bolts that hold the rollers in. If you want to take it apart any farther it should be done with a special jig and tool. With the primary off the machine. I'd look at engine mounts also. good luck Doc

Alright lemme try this one more time. I want to replace the buttons on the clutch assembly here and two of the bearings (one on the cover). How exactly do i get about taking this apart?

Bump..

Anyone know where the cheapest place to get a clutch cover would be? I checked ebay and the local polaris dealer wants 150$.

Cool thanks.. I still think that's too expensive for a plastic cover.
We installed the clutch back in today with the new bearings and buttons (wasn't even worth buying the buttons since they looked almost the same). Theres almost no wobble now. But I knew the cover would still hit everywhere so i took the heat gun and just pushed all that places that would hit outwards.. It just need some bracing now.

luda, did you get your issue resolved? i know this is an old post but i'm having a very similar problem to yours. i haven't taken the cover off yet to check it out. i'm very much a newbie and never claim to be mechanically inclined

Polaris made a much better built clutch cover due to the older ones warping, I think they came out in 99 or 2000.
