Well iam piping the sportsman soon i hope and iam looking for a slip on , the one that the polaris dealers say to get is a hotseat for $225 for the slip on . This a deal ? good pipe ? what size should i rejet to ? Will it give me better low or top end ?

I have the hotseat pipe on both my 4.5's, but I also have the clutch kit ans k&n air filter. It really improved the overall performance. I believe the clutch was the biggest improvement. But I like the sound of the pipe and it seems to work really well on the 500. I'm sure others may disagree but I have no problems with it. I am thinking of changing the driven clutch in the near future from hotseat. I am wondering if anyone from HSP who reads these may care to help me with suggestions on the helix and spring for the new unit??? I have the dynojet ordered but haven't installed it yet. Since yours is an earlier model I would think rejetting is required.

Whatchman, when you say you want to go to a different helix and sec. spring that confuses me you already have a different helix in your quad now correct? Do you wan tot go with the team secondary set-up?

Thanks for the reply Speedwerx. Yeah. I just couldn't think of it at the time...lol. I assume it takes a different helix for the team secondary set-up. Another thing. It seems my rpm's have been dropping more and more. Wide open, right after I had the kit installed, it would turn about 5500 to 5800 rpm and now it seems to just turn 4800 to maybe 5000 before it finally levels for a bit and then begins to climb. I understand this kit does lower the WOT a lot of the time, but this was a gradual change to a lower rpm and it seems the power is not as it was. I keep the filter clean and the plug checked and changed when needed. I only have about 1400 miles on it. Over all I really like the kit but just like to improve on it when I can. Would the dynojet and the newer intake for the airbox help?

First things first we need ot find out why you are now having rpm issues. I think you shold check you buttons in you secondary, make sure your spring hasn't popped out either. When taking the clutches apart inspect everything and try too see if you can see anything that might be wrong. We don't want to do anything until we find out whats wrong with it right now.
