Yesterday HPD called my house looking for me .I wasn't home but i seen there number on my caller id.At frist I thought they might be calling to yell at me for some of the not so good things i wrote about them(concerning my predator). Well ,i had to know so I called them up. It turns out that they want to sell me the proto-type thumb throttle they are working for the predator(for the HSR carb).When Sherri told me this i was thinking;WOW they really have lost their mind Because I sent the HSR carb back to them a month ago, because there was no way it was going to fit in my predator(it hit the frame and was a 1/2 inch away from engine boot). It turns out though, that i can use the same cable for my 41mm fcr carb.Not only that the new throttle has ratio pull so it's less effort to push.

So here is the proto-type deal HPD gave ME--The new proto-type throttle and cable for 125.00-then after they come out with the new throttle that they will sell to everyone,THEY SAID THEY WILL SEND ME THAT ONE FREE OF CHARGE!!!this mean two throttles for the price of one.Also feedback is what they will be looking for.

Well I went for it- they sent it out to me yesterday---I'll keep you all posted as to what happens.

Looks like they maybe fixxing things up over there and that is good for all of us!!

That's great customer service, others here should take note!

 

Though the mod trials and tribulations can be frustrating at times, you have to realize these companies are busting there butts to tap better performance. It's probably beneficial to all if the headaches of an early mod are dealt with between the customer and company, not weekly on the forums. Emotions from the frustrations can run high, and typed words can do a lot of harm. Try to be patient. Call the companies. Give them time (sometimes weeks) to get around to research the problem. This should, in the long run, reduce stress for everyone involved. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Yes, I speak from experience here, I've insered my foot in mouth a few times here. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] HPD, Rath Racing, Nicholas Cycle, Hot Seat/Speedwerx, are all great companies working their hardest to give us some quality products. Yes, it's frustrating to watch the Honda/Yamaha crew getting multiple mods quickly, but in time the Polaris mods surface. I know these companies all appreciate our support and loyalty. Yes, these forums are for sharing, but carefully worded sharing is a respectful route for hopefully solving our problems.

 

I hear you ken,but that whole HPD carb thing killed me. I wonder if thety ever fixxed the preblems With installing the hsr 45mm on a predator.There was no way it was going to fit even if i had a longer intake boot.the cable run would have been right in line with the upper motor mount.I just couldn't beleive that HPD would have sent that carb to me the way it was,without anyway of it fitting,and with out any kinda throttle. What was I suppose to do,,but cry about it on here before someone went though what i did.
I really felt bad about it too .because HPD never screwed me before. I beleive maybe they got the problems fixxed by now,but it's to late . i sent the hsr carb back and got the fcr 41mm keihin because Daryl Rath told me it would be the best carb i can use.

The throttle issues still stood tho. I rigged a cable to work with the 41mm and the original HPD thumb throttle,but it was half a$$ .Anyway after talking to hpd about this proto-type throttle I realized that i would be able to use the same cable they would use for their hsr carbs.Anyway we will see soon ,as to what this new throttle is like.
Also I just got another predator(used) and maybe when i mod it,I'll try their hsr 45mm if they figured out the fitting problems.
