By going up into the mountains you basically make your bike run quite a bit richer that normal. Should notice that it is a little sluggish at the get go and also at the top end. the only other issue could be it may be running quite a bit lean back where you normally ride and then you wouldn't notice it as much. What is your normal alltitude you ride at?

Have you ever had your bikes dyno tuned at that elevation? With going up 8K feet, you would need jets that put out about 20% less fuel to keep the perfect mixture. For every 1K feet it takes about a 2-3% change in jet size to keep it at optimum performance. As you go up, you take fuel away, because less oxygen and as you go down in elevation, you add fuel, more oxygen. Temperature has some to do with it as well. Colder air has more dense, so more oxygen. At my elevation (4K) I run a 165 jet with my set-up which makes it run like a raped-ape!!!!

Nope, never had anything done like that (yet). I've only had it for about a month, so still sort of in the break in period. I'm thinking about taking it to a local guy here who is the chit with the Polaris (AZBADBOYZ) and saying here's $XXX, turn it into the beast I know it wants to be and seeing what he comes back with.
Most of the folks I ride with have drop in K&N and jetted at about 180. Not sure that's what will be right for me, and for right now I'm okay with her right where she's at. Soon though, very soon.

Well, by doing the math and where mine is set now. That has to be really close!!!!
Falicon makes an awesome big bore/stroker kit - It makes it 600cc and flat mean!!! All you have to get is a bigger carb at that point. From visiting with them, it would double the horse power from stock. Cost on sending you parts in and having this done, including all there new parts is about $1900. A new carb is about $400 for a really good one and you would have labor on top of that. I am saving up $3000 to make it happen. This would make it the biggest, baddest, machine on the block!!!!!
The other mod is the longer +2" rear swing arm which is about $440 shipped in!!!!
