Default Chain question

I have an '01 Xplorer 400 4x4. Is there a way to tell if my chain is getting stretched out and needs to be replaced (besides being loose)? I need to tighten it but I want to make sure it's not getting stretched out.

Thanks.

It will be time for a new chain when you run out of adjustment.

Clean the chain and look for broken or missing rollers along with the stretching.

Thanks guys. When I go to tighten it I'll check it over really well.

Default Chain question

You can tell how much your chain has worn by pulling on the chain on the back of the rear sprocket. When it can be pulled off of the teeth it is shot. The more of the teeth that are exposed the worse the wear is. Try it with a new one it wont pull up at all.
