I found a used 2004 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4 with 800 hours for $4100. I rode it and it rides well and looks clean except for squeeking brakes (owner says probably just dusty pads). Is this a good price?

That would seem to be a reasonable price. HOWEVER......right now is the very best time to go to a Polaris dealer and get a great deal on a brand new/last years model (2005) at very substantial discounts. They cut the pricing BIG TIME to make room for the 2006's coming in.......now is the time. I bet you'll be able to get a better price/value deal for a new un-used 2005 machine........with complete warranty.

4100 seems a little pricy to me, my uncle got a 04 sp400 from a dealer with 200 hours and 78 miles on it for 4500..... I agree with backinthesaddleagain, i was just at the polaris dealer last weekend and the deals on the 2005's are rediculous right now, go to the dealer and check out what kinda deal you can get on the 2005's

800 HOURS.......I didn't even notice that. I'd bet he meant 800 miles. Regardless, go to the dealer and get a better deal on a new/warranteed 2005.
