sorry, i guesst he best explaination would be, it takes off like a rocket, then the acceleration stops dead. it then picks back up and slowly accelerates to around 30 where it starts to feel like it should again. Basicly, it goes 0-15 SUPER FAST 16-30 REALL SLOW and 30+ at normal speed.

You need lighter weights to go with the white spring. I'll bet you have stock (heavy) maybe 54 gram clutch weights. Try some 48 gram clutch weights. You see, the spring is working against the centrifugal force of the weights. When you have the heavy weights, they work against the spring, not letting it do it's thing, which is to let the motor rev. The heavy weights keep you in too high a gear untill you are up to speed where none of the clutch mods matter. LOL....Silly Later,,,,Fourlix

Goto the dealer an check to see what the differnts is in the stock spring an the white spring. It should have 2 numbers to it for the spring like 40 150 the 40 is the take off rate for the spring to allow the weights to start engaging. The secound number is for the shifting.
So you might have if say the stock spring was 40 160 for rates now you might have for the white is 50 135 witch means you gained on take off but loss on the up shift. Hope this helps you out it helped me for MX racing to figure it out. Spring are cheaper then weights so you can make the call but if you want the most improvment get a complete clutch kit for it because there are changs that get done in the secoundarie too

ok, the problem seems to have gone away, it seemed to just need broken in, but i would like to know more about these numbers on the clutch springs. If anyone knows of a clutch spring with engagement around the BLUE-Green level but shift out RPM and Upshift Speed more along the green, i would by all means be interested in purchasing it. I know polaris has like 30 springs so their must be at least one offering these levels of performance, By all means, if you know, PLEASE POST!!!!!

A friend of mines shifted funny after messing with the clutch - kind of seemed to 'stick' instead of shift smoothly. Seems he hadn't torqued the bolts with a torque wrench, just guessed it. It loosened up eventually, though, and didn't seem to hurt anything. I don't know how critical the torque is, but be sure all 6 outer bolts are even. The Hot Seat catalog has a chart showing the differences in the springs for those who are interested. They have a catalog just for Polaris stuff. They are in the ATV Connection links section somewhere.
