There is cleaner that you can only buy through KRP Industries called Aluma Tex. It is corrosive, and I do not know how safe it is to use on your bike so I am not in anyway condoning its use.

However, you can spay it on your motor and front and rear differential and your motor will look like new in a matter of 3 minutes. It takes off all that rust color even off your heat shields on your exhaust. We sprayed it on Tazsgizz's rear pumpkin, and it was shiny silver in about 1 minute. It does not seem to effect the painted surfaces. I am sure it would if you left it on for any period of time. We just rinse thoroughly, not wiping or scrubing.

You can purchase it in 5 gallon buckets at KRP Industries in Longview Texas. Call and ask for
Kevin. (903)759-9461 He is the guy that owns the Kodiak I snorkeled.

He also has some stuff called Green Clean that works as well as Castrol Super Clean or Simple
Green even when you dillute it 3/1. It can also be purchased in 5 gallon buckets. The good thing
about this stuff is it is not caustic like Simple Green and Castol Super Clean, meaning it will not
etch your aluminum.

greg,
You know more about this stuff than I do, but I know what NOT to use...Aluminum Brightner (like they use on 18whlr trailers). I had a couple of gallons of it at work, using it to clean up some aluminum tray and my cousin carried home some to clean an old tool box he had. Well, his buddy came over on his Honda and liked the way it made the tool box look and tried it on the motor...it ate every seal out of the engine...the head, pumps, the works. And it was only about 2-3 months old! It was a major pisser for him....I'm just glad he beat me to the punch...I'd thought about the same thing.
See....being lazy DOES pay off sometimes!

How long did you leave it on. This may be the same stuff. I only left it on for a minute. I hope I didn't hurt anything. I know of several people that have used wink which seems to have the same effect and they have not told me of any problems. I guess I will see.

You guys ever hear of Fluid Film? I first was exposed to it in high school when I helped a friend mow lawns. If you would power wash the underneath of the mower deck spotlessly clean, let it dry, then spray it with Fluid Film, no grass would stick to it for several mowings. When you were done, let the grass dry an hour or two, kick the deck, and almost every bit of gunky, sticky grass would just fall off. A water hose got the rest - no pressure washer, just a hose with your thumb over the end. Works GREAT for keeping your machine looking new as it forms a film that nothing seems to stick to. Just get everything as clean as possible and let it dry before you spray it. As a bonus, it seems harmless to everything on a quad. Re-coat every now and again. Makes the seat slippery, though, like Armor-All, but for paint & metal, too.

I wasn't there when it happened, so I really don't know how long he left it on there....suffice to say TOO long.

I use Air conditioning coil cleaner (non-acid type) works very good. The acid solutions, I've been told ; can eat or harden rubber seals. Ride em hard Polcat

I use WD-40 on my engine, it makes it look shiny, I mostly use it on painted surfaces. I've used it for a couple years now and I've never had problems.
