Over Heating Again

Default Over Heating Again

when the HOT appears on your screen is this a warning that you are going to damage your engine or is it already happening

Default Over Heating Again

By the way i had over an inch of mud in the bottom of my fan from just one mud run and then it started to overheat, i cleaned out my fan and started it again to let it cool

its when your engine is going to overheat and ruin your engine soon if you dont stop and turn it off[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

yes, and also, if u had your fan that high in mud, was it running at the time? that could of really damaged the fan or the motor.

the fan was not running at the time, it was packed full of mud and then the fan could not spin when it got hot

Screen means that it is getting hot but no damage to engine yet. The next step after the screen is when it overheats enough that it starts blowing coolant out of your overflow bottle. I had a rock wedged between my fan and the fan motor causing it not to turn. Plus the rad being plugged up. Polaris does not do a very good job of providing cooling for these machines although they are good mudders otherwise.</BLOCKQUOTE>
