!~Rear CV Axle Splines Stripped!!! HELP~!
Another question for you guys about my POS polaris 700..
Riding my bike the other day and all of the sudden I hear snap!.. Right rear tire had no more power... Got back to the house and relized that the splines on the upper part of the cv axle were stripped where they go into the rear gearcase! The axle was more stripped than the ring gear.. I tried JB weld and it didnt work...
Any Suggestions about a good epoxy or glue or maybe another idea?
Thanks In Advance

Either way, a new shaft is the way to go. Getting a GorillaAxle will prevent this in the future, and might be a good idea now to save cash. (Rather than buying one in the future after buying another polaris one.)

Hey Dazeys, thanks for the plug!
Yes, there are several things that could have caused the problem. My first thought is: Has anyone been working on the axles or boots? Perhaps they didn't get the clip seated all the way in the trans. Secondly, do you have a lift kit? These will cause the axle to over extend. Thirdly, the clip could have just been defective and broke which would allow the joint to pull out slightly and then try to go back while the gears in the trans were winding out? PM me if you need more details.
Thanks,
Danny

Danny,
My CV broke yesterday. On the end where the nut and cotter pin should be is gone. I have the heavy duty Rockford CV's you said you couldn't get any more. It is still in the hub and the splines are still good. I think I'll just drill and tap some threads in the end, and put a bolt and washer in it.
