Default 400 scrambler high rpm dying problem

ive just got a stock air box with a K&N filter, I put it back together myself. I didnt have any bolts or washers or anything else left over, but there was this tube from the carb taht had a knot in it. It had always been like that, and ran fine. im thinking about just rebuilding the carb, and if that doesnt help, then ill just go buy a monster bore carb lol. I checked all the fuel lines, everything is fine. it also has never died before like this, but when i first start it up, i can start it in H or N, but not in reverse. i have to press the override button in for it to run, but before the operation, it would, but it wouldnt move without the button pressed. I guess its just the little things that annoy you, but the dying problem is annoying me, i want to go faster and it dies. I dont want to crack the engine open again, it has to be my carb or ill just trade it in for an 800 or something.

chevyboy400,if everything has been double checked as for proper jetting then,i would check for a CDI problem or a bad coil, stator plate issues..
