Ok, this is what the advertisement says that I saw on the inside cover of Mud Magazine.

The gator gear is a revolutionary new product designed to eliminate the power robing engine brake on your polaris sportsman.

By installing the gator gear in place of your engine brake, the drive belt will be allowed to engage further down into the drive clutch which, in turn, raises the riding height of the belt in the driven clutch, giving yoiu a lower starting gear ratio. This process increases horse power to the wheels at low speeds under 10 mph. It will not affect top speed or any other part of the upshift or back shift. Belt slip is eliminated in the drive clutch even when the wheels are under a heavy load. The gator gear will accelerate your polaris harder off the line and transfer the necessary power to the wheels when riding in thick heavy mud.

For over sized or huge lug mud tire applications use the gator gear in conjunction with a quality aftermarket clutch kit and experience optimal results.

$89.95
Includes necessary shim kit and installation instructions.

You guys that have changed out clutch parts already will probably better understand what this advertisement is talking about, because it does make a little since to me, but not much.

Oh yeah, I haven't been able to find out anything else about it on the internet.

If any of you want to see the advertisment and have a fax, let me know and I'll fax a copy to you. It is a full page ad.

Ok, I've done some more reading on the forum and from what I can tell the 800 primary is a little more expensive but you will not loose engine braking like you would with the Gator Gear. Do ya'll agree or am I still in the dark?
