brisnw,
sorry to hear that, the thing with my low end noise is that it's the very same as when i got it. it has'nt progressed into a bigger racket after all the wear and revs i put the thing thru. but yes, i bought the extended warranty and will consider taking it in for a check. thanks.

Mine makes exactly the same noise. I don't worry about it I just maintain and ride it. I've heard the same noise in every other polaris twin I've been around.

smokeman,
thats awesome, i've heard that it's just a normal polaris type sound from the bottom end. like i said before, it's been the same since i got it, it's definately a metallic tapping, but it's stayed the exact same now as it was the very 1st day.
i do the same as you. i just keep the oil changed even if it's still brown and things are good. i'm looking into a clutch kit for it asap.!!!! do you have any background with these.? thanks again, joe

No background on the clutch kits, sorry. Mine feels fine the way it is but I have nothing to compare it to so I wouldn't know if I'm missing anything! LOL

smokeman,
thru articles and talking to others i seen that they can't live without it, would'nt change back for any reason. especially if you upsize your wheels and tires. i'm wanting a tad more bit right off the idle to the back tires. thanks again, joe

I just recently had the same sound coming from my case on the right side. Went out and did some serious riding on Saturday and it bacame a LOUD banging and clanging. Turned it off for a break. And when I went to start it I heard a loud nasty clank inside. Ended up being my bendix had exploded. I just got it all apart. Don't see any damage to the flywheel or stator. I'm hopin.

Hey Joe, I settled with the Polaris "white" spring in the primary. It gave me almost stock engangement with strong low and mid range pull. The 600 is easier to set-up, it does'nt need the "spyder" shimmed and basicaly has one fly weight set-up. The 700 has more options for the clutch fly weights and is said to respond even better.

I PM'ed you with the details on how to get the kit.

I guess riding in Alabama you don't have the cold weather starting problems we have here in New England, however the website I gave you in the PM will fill you in on the benifits of the "technical service bulletin" for cold weather starting. It kind of tunes your carb in for optimal performance and is a DIYer. This only applies to 03 and early 04 twins.
