Well, herein lies the problem with what is being said.........
One of the key players in the combustion chamber is the squish band. That will help designate the torque output of the motor as well as the rpm range (to a certain extent). The biggest role is to maximize power output and keep detonation down. When you go raising the head or the cylinder you make the squish area wider (the distance from the piston crown to the head). Believe it or not that will HELP induce detonation. The only correct way is the keep the squish band correct and use the right compression ratio dome. Hope I didnt lose anyone there. KeninAZ you are going about it the right way with a replacement dome. Bubba
