2005 Sportsman Problem, Need help

Default 2005 Sportsman Problem, Need help

Ok, here is the Problem, When I am Riding my quad and I turn my Handlebars to the right all the way the enging sometimes shuts off, I cannot seem to find out why it does this, anyone else have similar problems? Any help is appreciated.

Default 2005 Sportsman Problem, Need help

The stuff hanging off your key hits the gas cap and shuts the quad off, use only the key (no chain)....

yup, that is usually the problem....how much junk do you have on your keychain? take everything off but the key....

Default 2005 Sportsman Problem, Need help

Mine has the same problem, scared me the first time it happened. Cleaning off the key chain fixed the problem.

Default 2005 Sportsman Problem, Need help

Same thing happened to me when I first bought mine. Now I just use the one key and I have a coiled keychain with a snap on one end connected to the handlebar just in case for some reason the key comes out. It's also a good idea to have a key cover which helps prevent dirt and water from getting in the ignition....

More than likely, this is a keychain issue, but if that doesn't fix it, check your ETC. It might be out of adjustment.

Default 2005 Sportsman Problem, Need help

pull a little slack out of the throttle cable from the pod and secure with a tie wrap to the handlebar,it was the throttle over ride(ETC) kicking mine out with the hard right hand turn.No key chain on my bike

Thanks for the input everyone, I know it isnt the key cause I had already corrected that problem after I had ridden the quad for the first week. I think it is the throttle cable. I will give that a try. Thanks
