New predator Problem discredits my previous post...
Hey guys,
So really quick for those of you who haven't been following all this, my pred has had the following things go wrong (those who know skip this part)
1) heat shield melted, Pure Polaris Muffler queit core came apart, LED tail light stopped working
2) Transmission lock-up. (this lamented a >$1000 tranny replacement under waranty)
3) Clutch lock-up (the cause was traced to lubrication problems in my case, likely the cause of the tranny lock up as well, new case, new bearings, new clutch assembly)
SO::: here's the new problem. some of you might remember from a previous post about taking the quiet core out yielding a lot more HP, well... it probably does help a little bit, but my problem turned out to be a lot more than just minor choking of the exhaust flow... I took the preddy in because it has always started a little hard and recently, with the colder temperatures, wouldn't start at all. Once i pull-started it, i couldn't let it idle for about 5 mins. So i got the call yesturday, and it's exactly what i feared, my preddy has somehow lost compression. We're not sure how yet... so obviously any power comparisons i did are invalid between the TLD and my LE.
BTW, i think i'm finally going to start pushing the lemon law thing... this is getting kinda rediculous, the machine has been at the shop more than it's been in my hands... gonna write a letter to Polaris President first, who knows, but unless they take action soon, i'm afraid i'm going to have to... anyway, any opinions on what other things i should try, or why my compression is gone now would be great! thanks!

defeinetly a lemon! Very sorry to hear that. I havent had a single problem with my 05 LE after nearly 100 hours on it. As far as lost compression it sounds like the dealer may have put it together wrong when fixing the trans. did you rejet after removing your quite core? You definetly would have to or would run to lean and obviously lead to loss compresson becuause of burnt piston.

that really sucks... well hopefully its a 1 in 1000 kinda thing.... maybe they'll do the smart thing and give you a new bike that doesn't fall apart like an 80 year old woman.
best of luck walt.... i'm just finishing up on my 400... got the case back together after fixing the cooling system.... i really hope this is the last thing i have to fix for a long time.

I didn't rejet, but 1) my dealer told me i probably didn't need to, and 2) i only ran it for like... two weeks maybe... so it wasn't nearly enough time to burn a piston up... besides, i think it has been since they rebuilt the tranny like you said...
