Problem with Scrambler rear axle

A friend of mine that has a 05 Scrambler already had a rear axle bearings replaced with less than 700 miles and he found again this weekend that the axle was loose inside the bearings.
I also have a 05 Scrambler with less than 400 miles and when I arrived home today I put the rear wheels of the ground and found that when I try to twist the axle it twists a little bit. Is this normal?
Does anyone have similar problems?
We do some fast trail riding but not hard enough to cause anything like this. Any of our buddies ever had this problem.
Can you help?

hey man i got an 05 to , and its funny your bringing this up cause last week i went through the same problem your going through with the rear axle bearings loosening off. So what did was obviously retightened the axle and the what i'll call it the the axle nut crimp bolt thats got the allen key head , took it out for a rip and the same thing happened . So i took that littlecrimp bolt out and realized that even at it's tightest there were only like 5 threads that actually were used and i figured that it wasn't getting enough crimp so i found that same size bolt 1/4 inch and doubled its length so i put a lock washer on it so the head of the bolt would not seat in the hole . I have not had that problem since . Hope that helps you out !

Pornelas, are we talking about a loose axle even though the caliper/hitch bolts are tightened down? I've never checked for this on my Xplorer, I wonder if it does it too?

I check mine because my friend's atv got the same problem twice!
I belive that the problem results in slow loosening of the big nut that holds the axle, that keeps on going until it damages the bearings.
I know that Polaris changed from the 2004 to the 2005 model the rear axle and the nut that holds it. Maybe it's not as good as the previous.
The problem I'm facing now is that my dealer says that theu never had this problem before with this model and now there are 2 atvs with it. I'm going to post an help request to see if anyone else had this problem and report it to me.

Hey man try what I told you to try in an earlier post , and forget everything the dealer tells ya . If ya want something done right and on time your better off trying it yourself ! That large axle nut that you are talking about thatis on the brake caliper side has a nut that has a allen key head on pull it out throw it in the garbage and find a 1/4 inch bolt and it has to be double the length as the other one you just threw out . Put a lock washer on it and try it out , the bolt will only go as far as the washer and that is the key because there is no threads in the upper half so the will tighten it up alot better than that other bolt . Man you have to try this and like i said earlier forget about the dealer . I have had nothing good to say about my dealers mechanics.
