Just wondering how your SP500 worked out for you here in Nova Scotia. Anything go wrong with it?
What type of parts did you replace? If any?
Did you like the Belt drive ?
How much were replacement belts?
Were parts for this bike expensive?
Just your feelings on the reliability of this bike where we live.
Thanks

Hi 300forLife,
Sorry so long for the reply, but I am not here as often anymore. I sold my SP500 due to my woman and I splitting up.
I thought you were the guy who was bashing the Polaris quads not long ago?
It makes no difference anyway. On to your questions.
>What type of parts did you replace? If any?
I had problems with the recoil, due to water getting in there and freezing - covered by warranty. Problem solved with water proof grease and a pipe clamp making the recoil waterproof.
Broke a half shaft. My own fault with large tires and a bad stuck - replaced under warranty - Thank you Polaris.
>Did you like the Belt drive ?
I really did. When first considering the SP500 I was worried about the belt drive, but I rode with a couple of Polaris machines and they had no problems so I went for the SP500.
I was not disappointed. I had no slippage at all and I was a diehard mudder and have had the SP500 up to the racks in water. ALways being in the right gear is the way to go on hillclimbs and mudding. It is really nice for everyday riding too.
The auto can easily pull just about anything you attach to it as well. I have pulled 12 large logs thru deep muskeg with myself (220 lbs) and my father (210) on the machine. The mud was deep enough that at times you could not see the trailer the logs were on.
>How much were replacement belts?
Replacement belts are about $35 - $40 and easy to replace according to this forum. I don't know because my belt gave me Zero problems
You will find part for the polaris are less expensive than the comparable Japanese parts.
300ForLife, if you are considering a Polaris, but aren't sure because of all the 'bad' talk about them...believe me it is just talk. If you buy the SP500 you will be very pleased with it's performance. And is even more true if you get the SP500 HO!
