converting a 400 polaris to a-arm front end
Ah, the question I love...
You need to buy either the HPD spindles to use your polaris brakes, or buy a complete front end from a 400ex or 250r, assuming thats what you go with. You need to buy the arms, tie rods, spindles, calipers, hubs, rotors, wheels, you need custom brake lines, a custom made steering stem, move the top stem mount on your frame, custom make the fender mounts, radiator mounts, the front motor mount, make a custom clutch duct, make nerf bar mounts, and buy a bumper. You need shocks, must buy aftermarket, b/c stock arent heavy enough to account for the extra weight for the polaris parts.
That is just what i came up with right off had, count on finding a bunch of other things. Check out my pics.
The advantages, it solves the high speed handling issue, ya know that wondering feeling it gets.. It solves that, and, it just handles a ton better in general, under almost all conditions.
How hard is it, pretty tuff... Takes a lot of machining ability, time, and money. There are a ton of parts to buy to make it complete. It is however, a lot of fun.
I am actually about to sell my bike, I love it, but, I built it for XC racing and discovered that I am much better at, and like MX racing more, and this bike is good on an MX track, but it won't run with the modded 450s by any means. I plan to try to give racing a big shot this spring to see if i can run with some of the better classes. I have to sell my bike in order to upgrade. It will be in the classifeid section soon.
Badboy, Private message me if you want more details on what to do to make the switch.

I have a 98 Scrambler 400 with Banshee front end J arms. The mounts are welded to the shock towers. The towers did need to be reinforced underneath with chromoly tubing. It has Marvin Shaw shocks. This setup is good for duning, not sure how good it would be for trail. Looks awsome though. Contact Dennis at AZBadboys, he worked on it.

Go on azbadboyz.com and click on the rides. And scroll down and click on more members rides. Then click on readers A-L then scroll down to eric's 97 scrambler and then click on the pic and you will see more pics. Now it has different plastic and everything that was yellow is now chrome. and it has nerf bars on it now.
