Default Sportsman 400

I guess I never noticed before and this being my first Polaris. This morning while plowing I the machine sputtered in reverse. I was telling my buddy at work and he said I have to push the override button anytime I am in reverse. I'm like what override button?

I never have in the past but I only backed it into the garage a few times.

This is a 2004 Sportsman 400 with electronic dash (late model 04, takes GENVI accessories.)

Does the override switch share functions with dash selector switch (the switch that changes what the dash shows, ie. hours, rpm's, miles) or is there another switch somewhere?

Thanks

That's the switch. It has to be held in to override the rev limiter when backing up. Be careful on the throttle when doing so.

You must use this switch also to engage 4X4 in reverse.

Thanks guys.

Dahui, I have some elk meat sitting at a locker in Queen Creek, waiting for it to get shipped to me in Iowa.

Quadavator makes an override switch to eliminate that
