Dude, wakeup, cause they're is not a 500ho that will outrun a grizz 660. Noway! Report that in any other forum and see what you get. I wish it were possible, but it is NOT!!!!! You must typed that while you were asleep, cause you're dreaming!

unless the grizz burning more oil then gas, there is no way a stock h.o, or even a slightly modified h.o can hang with a grizz. i have about same top speed as a griz, but he gets there much quicker...

Come on guys I am on Polaris's side but the grizz660 vs the sp500. The grizz has 161cc more, a 42mm carb vs a 40mm carb and is 115lbs lighter. You would do better in comparing the sportsman 700(683cc) with the grizz 660. This is like comparing a Mustang to a Corvette. I have a neighbor with a 03 grizz 660 with 28 inch gators. He has riden with my clan twice, in which we had a drag race on pavement. Other than myself and the grizz there were 2 more sp500's, a 1998 and a 2001 we are all stock with stock tires. There was also a sp400, a zuki 700 KQ, and a 2003 rincon 650. The grizz with the oversized tires still outran all the sportsmans as well did the rincon 650, and of course the KQ700 was the leader.

I agree with Pope, There is just no way... I have a 02' Grizz. I bought it stock with 300 miles on it. My Cousins put the Pol.700 and Honda 650 up against it, and i left them both everyweekend. Now the honda had 26" mud lites, but other than that they were all stock. I saw 65 all day and got there faster. The 700 was right there but still behind. This was all on pavement.. A little while after i did a few mods, E-series exhuast, K&N filter, and a power up jet kit- FMF needless to say its not even close anymore.. but i will say with those mods i went from 65 to 78mph then i put a EPI clutch kit in... i lost top end but i still see 75.

there is no way a stock Sportsman 500 will out run a stock Grizzly,,,it aint gonna happen

before i started modding my Grizz my speedo said 67 mph wound out,,,,,my buddy has a Sportsman 700,and he said my speedo, and his concur

my 660 would flat out eat that 700,,,,stock,,,out of the hole, and the 700 would eventually pass me ,but not before he got a grill full of dust for a good run

i ride with several Sportsman 500's,from various years every weekend, and every single one of them, including my buddy with the 700 couldnt believe the throttle response, and the flat out raw guts of the Grizz

if your saying a Sportsman 500 is out running a 660 Grizz,i have one thing to say,,,,,,,STEP AWAY FROM THE BAG OF WEED,,,,STEP AWAY FROM THE BAG OF WEED,,,,,because you've obviously been tearing into the bag pretty hard my freind

I have to agree with ppope, their is no way a 500HO can outrun a grizz. The grizz has 161 more cc's and weighs about 115 pounds less. My new 500efi is quick, but is not close to my 700efi on exceleration and top speed.

I will agree with anyone that say's the sp500ho will out perform anything in the 500cc class, but the Grizz just isn't in that class. Dude, what were you thinking by posting that????? Doesn't even make since. I am taking my father-in-law shopping for an atv tomorrow. He really likes Honda, but I plan to take him to all the dealerships. We have a friend that owns our local Yamaha shop, so we'll be testing the grizz out. I have riden my neighbors though, and they are pretty impressive machines! I would say there are the best of the small big bore class when it comes to raw power.

Just curious, but does your 500HO make a ticking sound around 4800 to 5500 rpm's. If I excelerate harder it doesn't do it. I'm not used to the 500HO and was just wondering if it was normal. Thanks.
