Creaky front struts
Had a blast today in the snow up here is SE MI. Went through some deep ditches with the new used quad. It is a 4x4 2000 Magnum. I noticed on the way home the struts have started to make a creaking type noise when you hit bumps or dips where they would have to compress to absorb shock. Is it normal for them to creak when it's cold outside? Never went through any deep water just plenty of deep snow. I don't believe there is anyway to oil them and just wonder if this normal in the colder weather?

You guys are right on target. The sound does seem to come from the top of the struts and is a squeaky type noise. I will have to take a closer look at them and see what you are talking about as far as unbolting them from the top mounting. Probably take them apart once it warms up a bit and spray them down with WD-40 in the mean time. Thanks for the replies...
