Polaris Sportsman 450 anyone?

I doubt they could nix the 500 carb, that's their flagship and bestselling quad. Even if it gets pretty replaced by the 450, X2, and 500efi, some people still don't want EFI and want another 500. I think they'd lose too many loyal customers.

Back on topic, for those that have ridden the 450, how much more powerful is it than a 400?
I just read some comparisons in All Terrain Vehicle magazine, and they say that the 450 is now at the head of its class for power and speed.

Yes, Look me up in a couple of months, I will attempt to make a transaction that involves a steel frame with 4 tires, a motor and suspension and some nice bodywork, from a new retail space in an unnamed southern state.
Get ahold of me in a few months, strictly as a friendly gesture, and I will offer you a 4 wheeled atv, strictly as friendly gesture, with monetary gain of course.
Trying to be politically Correct here PPOPE...L

As you know, I own an 05 500ho, and have ridden the 06 450, however, I have'nt dragged them. The 450 feels, and I know this is blunt, but between the 400 and 500. You can feel the extra 44cc in the 500, but it's not enough for pne to scream about. Where I noticed the big difference was the lowend torque as i spoke about when loading it on a truck. The 500 was very noticable in this aspect, however, the 450 loaded much better than a 400 does. The 400 really struggles in reverse up the ramps to the truck. I have to get down on the 450, but not floor it like the 400 and the 500, will jump through the back window of the truck if you're not careful.

I havent ridden either back to back. The one thing that comes to mind is Polaris themselves.
Polaris clutching from the factory is VERY inconsistent. I have found more than few machines that suffer from deflection and alignment issues. A simple fix, yes, and one that will gain them a few MPH, But often overlooked because they just bought a new machine and assume its adjusted properly. So I have no doubts that we will see posts in the future of 450 owners bragging they took a 500 HO, and posts from HO owners describing how they destroyed the little 450, and more than likely both groups will be right.
