it's all about the bottom line boys. if a manufacturer can get a component at a cheaper price in another country then you can be damn sure they are gonna do it. does the problem with the new 500 EFI electronics ring any bells for ya? quality is not the priority, it's all about making sales. we are partly to blame for allowing this to continue, we are so hungry for new models, they make 'em, we buy 'em. don't base your purchasing decisions on where a bike's parts come from, buy machines that have a reputation for quality and lasting reliability, that way we can send the message to the manufacturers that we are only going to spend our hard earned money on well made products.

The Japs build a better engine so I am very happy that my 500 engine is made in Japan by Fuji.
As an auto mechanic with about 30 years experience I get really sick of some of the junk I see everyday that is "proudly made in the USA".
As far as fuel injection goes on an ATV that is a huge mistake and if you buy one and intend to keep it for years you will be very sorry.

Clinton couldn't do much about it when the House and the Senate were Republican. This was carried over from the Bush years. And selling out to China is all hearsay. If he sold us out to China, do you think he would still be a free man? Only thing I have to say is, when Clinton was in office the economy was doing good and people where working. Look at it now. I don't think I'll be looking foward to retirement when I get old. If there still will be Social Security. So I don't totally blame Clinton for that. He happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is truly a topic of pleasure for me!!! I work for Subaru... You'd be surprised to know that all of the 4 cylinder engines that are installed in the Legacy/Outback line up (ess turbos/sixes) are assembled in the US...while using many US suppliers for those internal engine parts. You'd also be surprised to know (or maybe not) that the Duramax diesel is being manufactured for GM by Isuzu in Moraine, OH.
And by the way...GM no longer holds shares of FHI...they sold them to Toyota.
The FHI motor on the Polaris quads is great. I've heard many of you rave on how "bullet proof" that motor is...only to find out that the engine is assembled in Japan for Polaris. Actually, the Polaris star is part of the FHI family...hence "Polaristar" financing.
FHI/Subaru build all their products to the highest possible level of quality. While nothing is every perfect, the engines that FHI produces (for vehicles) far exceed any domestically engineered gasoline engine on the road today. It's not uncommon for an FHI engine to exceed 500,000 miles with only general maintenance being performed.
Trust me...there's not a better "all around' engine out there...than one that carries the FHI stamp.

Never confuse FUJI with Isuzu...that's like saying Ford is General Motors.
