that good? if polaris was going to stay in business long term they had to make very smart
choices, there are only 4 major snowmobile companies remaning, countless companies went out in the 1970-1980 era. today polaris has grown much larger giving us atv's, victory bikes,
ranger's, & when they were ready to make motors, there own liberty brand motors!!!!
the polaris JOBS we have today are because of the wise choices they made, going with fuji
motors early on was one of them!

RobGonz, I think if you check, you will find GM owns wholly or near wholly the Isuzu Diesel division of Isuzu Motors. GM reduced ownership stake in Toyota and changed ownership stake in Isuzu to swing the Isuzu Diesel purchase. I think this is near correct. Further there are no major manfacturers that are 100% US built anymore, all have foreign content to some degree. We, the U.S., are part of a world economy whether or not we choose to believe the facts.

I personally think it would be a great thing if the USA would start making bikes independent of foreign trade. Think about it . This is comment is without research, but I would wager that we buy most ATVs made, period. Why is it so difficult to understand that we definitely have the market, and the know how, and the need for jobs? This is what I don't get...if you buy a honda, assembled in N.C., Nagasaki, or who knows, the bottom line is that the JAP co's outsource too. What's left is Tiawan and China. The average pay-scale for these workers is dimes to us folks. Yet their bikes cost just as much as Arctic Cat and Polaris. Give me a break. I don't like the facts, but the facts is, by buying Polaris or Arctic Cat you are keeping more money in American pockets. PROVE ME WRONG!!! Maybe not 100% American Made, but at least 100% located in the USA. The next person that gives a good reason to send money to a foreign national economy based on Communism (That would be China) please feel free to emote all your warm fuzzy feelings of how you are glad that your hard earned dollars went to enrich a world national threat. (By threat I mean this: China has bought up so many shares of GNP in ores and holdings that typical building material in the USA has QUADRUPLED in the past four years. Don't believe me? Try pricing ferrous goods at any distributor and compare it to the same thing in 2001.)

nothing was ever made 100 percent in the US. and besides buying american made products only puts more money in the manufacturers pockets not the US citizens. and being located 100percent in the US dont mean nothin.

I guess since the engine is the most expensive part in the machine and we all want to be able to afford an ATV we should be happy that they are produced off shore
If polaris had to pay fat lazy union workes here in Canada or the USAto manufacure motors us consumers would be paying about $30 grand for our next ATV
same reason all kid toys are made off shore and electronics etc...
who would pay $100 for an AMERICAN MADE barbie doll or $1500 for a DVD player
couldn't be possible
made in north america is way too expensive
