Default awd problem

I have a 04.5 sportsman 700 with 900 miles on it the awd switch was off, when I went to take off the rear wheels spun I moved about two feet and the awd kicked blowing the transmission apart.

Your atv transmission(from my limited understanding) is your belt system. What exactly broke. I have heard of the AWD sticking on when it is switched off if the machines are in and out of a lot of water. Usually you can disengage it by moving in reverse. I don't run my SP500 HO in the winter. I am sorry to hear about your breakdown. I had a front strut break shortly after buying my machine new in 2003. You will be very frustrated at the beginning and think that your machine is a lemon, but I had my machine fixed and it has run without any trouble for 3 years now. Hopefully your experience will be the same.

My 2 cents,
Mike

Default awd problem

otta the frt wheels engage with such a force it actually put a hole in the trans. Took it to the deeler and they where going to charge me 1600.00 for the trans plus 8 hrs. to install which is still not going to cure the problem of the frt wheels engageing with the swith off so it could happen again the next time I go out. Talking to the tech at the deeler he said they are having lots of problems with the frt. diff
