Scrambler running to lean
#1
Changed my exhaust a month ago to a white brothers e series. Also have a k&n and have drilled 6- half inch holes in my air box lid. Put a new plug in rode for an hour then pulled the plug and it looked good . Went out the next weekend with tape over 3 of the holes in the lid , rode for a couple hours , pulled plug and it was almost as white as the snow i was riding through. I have never changed the jets before but am very mechanically inclined , and not afraid to try things out by myself. Just need some direction ,advice and some tips . Appreciated and thanx.

Remove the front plastic, the gas tank and get the carb off the intake rubber boots...
pilot jet
unscrew the float cover, theres 4 crappy screw holding it in place. If your lucky they will come off easy, very unlikely though.theyre probably gonna strip. If they strip get a pair of vise grip and take them out.carefully remove the float cover. At that point, you should be able to see the pilot jet.
main jet
remove the drain plug under the carb
needle jet
remove the cover on the top of the carb (theres 2 screws holding it,)
I cant helph much with the jet size cause we dont have the same exhaust, however i sugest you to go 1 size larger on main (stock is 155 a 160 should be ok) stock pilot is 40 should be fine with a 42.5.You might have to raise the needle clip & or play with the mixture screw.

Not sure if you have to adjust the needle jet...You may have to raise the needle clip to the fourth notch.stock its in the third notch.
once your close with the jetting you can fine tune with the mixture screw

another option to the whole jetting concept, is to install a dial-a-jet kit. it will compensate for altitudes, temp changes, and any other lean conditions due to modifications, you would run into. and its externally adjustable.
i have had one on mine now for about 6 months and noticed a big difference in colder temperatures. it also allows you to run with the air box open if you want, without rejetting.
just another option,,,,,,,
