01 yellow scram 500 feels faster

Scott makes a good point. I spoke to a dealer yesterday who had a yellow SC500 on teh floor. He said that a belt replacement on a year old machine will increase bottom end. He clearified his point by saying that the more a belt gets used the more it will "glaze". The more it is glazed the more rpm it takes to "lockup". A newer belt will lockup at lower rpm which makes it feel like more power. Thinking about how teh PVT drive on Polaris machines work this makes alot of sense.

I have looked over both the the "plain" '01 500 4x4 and the yeller one. They both look indentical besides color & graphics.
