Default Trail Boss Stalls When Put In Reverse

When I put my sons 93 Trail Boss in reverse it stalls. I figure it is the reverse light switch but I'm not sure where to look for the short. Any help would be great.

Is this box located under the dash?

I am not sure on the location but it is the box with 3 wires the other box is the voltage regulator.
On a 400 Sportsman it is on the frame by the oil tank.

Agreed, the Reverse Limiter. It is not a hard fix at all, if you can get the part. I fixed mine 93 trailboss with this problem by getting a good used switch. I think I found mine on e-bay for $15.00. Fixed it right up.
Good luck with keeping her running.... I'm always having to fix something!
