500 EFI or 700 EFI
Keeping in mind, the simplicity of the carbureted Sportsman 500 HO circa 2005 vs EFI 20060 Sportsman 500 I made the decision to buy the 05 carbed camo HO vs the '06 EFI camo.
Guess what ::::::::::::::::::::::::?????
I suffered the same ECM (ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE) / temperature sensor problems that the current EFI units have been encountering. So, I may as well have well purchased the 2006 EFI Sportsman 500.
(Bet you didn't know there was a bad batch of ecm's shipped to Polaris)
It's just a glitch in parts suppliers. That's it. The situation has been addressed by Polaris.
Get the EFI 2006, the warranty, the easier starting and the extra gas mileage of EFI vs carburetion .
The carbed 500 is within 2 tenths of a gallon as the 700 EFI on a fifty mile trip. The 500 EFI has to be better. and it is under warranty, go for it.
Please do not listen to the Johnny Come Latelys. Polaris is making it right.

i'm REALLY happy that your 500EFI is going well.
TWO Questions?
how many miles do you have on it?
what is the production date?(can be found on your Certificate of Origin)
