Im looking to trade my wheeler in and im asking your guyes opinion which would be better. Im loking for more power than speed but speed is always nice to have. And looking for more torque. My buddy says a 500 would be better but I wanted your guyes opinion too.

The 06 500 efi's are having problems. I would wait till next year on the 500 or get the 700 efi. I have an 05 700 efi and its great.

if your looking for raw power and torque, the 700 is the better rout. the 500 EFI and the 700 EFI are about the same acceleration, but hte 700 uses considerably more fuel and the torque is alot more potent

I have almost 800 miles on my 06 500efi and it runs great. Had the false "HOT" reading but dealer fixed immediately. I traded in my 700efi for this bike and don't regret it. It will go all the same places my 700 did.

Unless you have a real need for an efi, the 500 carb is a dream machine. no, it won't outrun the 700. But the overall feel is great. sometimes to much power comes into play. The 500 is a well balanced machine for work and play. enough power to do whatever but not so much that you break traction pulling something(unless you want to.) The 500 carb has been around for over 10 years too.

stay away from that 500 EFI, way too many horror stories! first year machine! the 500 carb is a good machine and has been around for quite some time, but the EFI has proven itself fairly well and not having a carb is a BIG perk!

Just wondering what problems are on the 500 EFI? My friend has not had anything wrong so far on his.
