Default New guy 250 Trailblazer

New to ATV's. Recently aquired an 03 Trailblazer. The guy before me worked at Polaris and added a ton of goodies. Douglas aluminum wheels, Carlisle tires, fox on both ends, piped, clutched, aluminum bumper, answer pro tapers, hitch, rear rack..... Traded a sled for it that was worth about $2500.00. Fair deal you think? Runs good but wish it had a little more top end. What would it take to get this to 50mph and still keep the torque it has?

Wanted to post a picture of it but cant seem to find the option for doing this.

mustang99 is right. I've had all my stock TBs in the high 40s, under the right conditions. The one I have piped and jetted is definately faster. Never assume it's jetted correctly, cluth kit etc.
gunman457 is just upset because he still lives in Chicago and got too much snow last night. Move west and enjoy life.

Hey bud, welcome to the forums. You'll find a bunch of info here. I wish mine had the fox struts. They use to come standard on the back for the scrammies. Sounds like a nice ride, and a great deal.

I think the previous owner may have geared it lower. It seems to have an awful lot of low end grunt and peaks out too quickly. It will lift the front wheels off the ground just by snapping the throttle. Dont get me wrong, I like it, but may drop the rear a tooth or two. I am guessing it peaks at about 40 mph.

The HSP pipe is as noisy as my dirtbike. I would like to quiet it down a little bit but have no desire to put the stock pipe back on. Has anyone had any luck quieting down the exhaust with packing? I like the sound but the neibors dont.

The HSP pipe is your problem on the topend. The HPD makes better topend but you will loose some of the lower end .But with the HPD or even the Aaen pipe you can run a stock 400 Scrambler muffler and get it real quiet and not loose much if any power.

Too much snow? WOW 2in of snow sounds like alot. I haven't seen too much snow in 5 years. And bye the way, I like the snow. I like to ATV in it and sled in it. And as for UTU, I do own a Poolaris. That's why I went out and got a Kawasaki. It's a much better quad.
