Cracked transmission housing...please help

yes you can do the tranny with basic hand tools, get the repair manual from polaris it spells it out well. I'll bet the silent chain either got way loose and bound up or it broke a gear,let us know what you find.

Default Cracked transmission housing...please help

Well I got as far as taking the plastics off the right side and the skid plate of the bottom. Ya there is another hole there as well. It looks like bearing went and then got jammed and broke the case. I will post some pics tonight. I can get the whole gearcas assembled for 950.00. Or the two bearings, shaft and silent chain for 525.00.


Ya next paycheck I will order a new one.

I am also playing with the idea of puttin a trans. in from a trailboss or a magnum...I dont even know if this will work, because the ATP has that turf mode thingy....
Any thoughts....????????????

Before you order bearings and or (races / if it has them) and seals get the numbers off of them and go to a parts store they can get them. If they don't have them they can get them a whole lot cheaper than the dealer and they are the same. Save a lot of money in that area or find a local company that sells bearings we have Motion Ind. in this area that has them.
But if you can find a used 1 I would go that way first.
