they are a great machine. used to have one, not the remington, but basicly the same. only thing i can think of is grease em up before long trips and in regular maintenence. they are awesome for hunting. did quite a bit in prince george

Here's what I have....
I personally owned a couple of 2000 500's but in yellow.... excellent color!
I should have never sold them!
They were dependable and easy to maintain....
Pro's:
Reliable....stable....easy to work on....1 cylinder....almost bullet proof!
Just take care of the grease work and oil changes....
Con's:
In 2000... They had the front hub fluid.... This would lock the ATV into turning one way or the other....
Solution....Had to put it into 2WD and reverse out of it.... Not a Huge issue but something of a hassle....
Also...Belts weren't as good back then... better now...
and the belt covers tended to warp.... This would allow water to enter the belt housing....
The remington camo liked to peel and flake off?
It would really depend on the price?
