i didnt break any laws !!! i stopped at every stop sign never went over 20mph the only thing i didnt have was directionals. and as far as pushing the quad, it's a Sportsman and that 400 feet could feel like 1500. lol

 

If the quad isn't licensed for road use, you were breaking the law. Same as if you drive an unlicensed car on the road. Doesn't even matter if it COULD be road legal with turn signals and DOT tires on it. Unlicensed is still unlicensed. Check into your local laws though, maybe you could get an exemption for a farm vehicle or something, lol.

 

every state veries im sure about the laws. here we can go 300 feet w/ out breaking the laws. as far being on the rd you have to have everything that it takes to inspect a car w/ like horn, blinkers, etc. then reg. as an on the rd vechical. who wants that.when i lived in the town we had to push the dirt bikes on a light wheeler ( not my 800) lol to the trail as well . not that easy to do. i could see it if you were being stupid, being loud or wheelies or ssomething but it doesnt sound that way to me. just remeber no matter what you'll lose by paying the tickets.

 

Here we are allowed to use the ditches and cross directly across the road

 

in kentucky, your allowed 1/4 mile of street use if theres no other way.

also, the 15 feet on either side of the road is an easement to the government if they want to widen the road, which makes it technicly public property privately governed. so you can ride on that.

Man I was mad at him, they let him go, I asked him what the deal was , he said he stoped me, I said you on a dirt bike you could have ran away no problem, he said I didn't think of that. "Cops are such A$$holes" It always amazes me when I see comments like these!! Thats like saying everyone who rides an ATV is a jerk! Because of one person lets not label all cops as A$$holes! They strap on a guns and badges every day and are prepared to put their a$$ on the line possibly for you or your family, so lets be a bit more selective when we label ALL cops as a$$holes!

 

Do everyone a favor and go to the city council meetings and push for them to change the city ordenance so it would be leagle for you to ride from your house directly to an approved ATV route that leads out of town....BE PRO-ACTIVE!

It will work if you go to the meeting prepared with possible travel routes through town ect...

 

I will agree to some point on the all cops comment, we had a sheriff that went and tore down a gate a man put up to keep riders off a trail. Due to easements laws, but the man went and bought all the land so know he has the right to shut it off.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Talk about some ticked off riders including me.
