"the bar is letting out with 30 drunks getting behind the wheels of there cars, and he is worried about me"
So what your saying is that you were riding at night and there was a chance that one of those drunks just might possibly could have hit you and maybe that "a$$hole cop" might have saved you from putting yourself into that situation again where you could be run over.

Again, folks the argument here is not the PO doing his/her job but their attitude!
If you doing something wrong and someone politely explains the issue treating you like a person, then cool. But when they start off with "hey sh$t for brains, what the hell you doing?" then there's problem
I have been stopped by the Police 3 times in my 41 years and all three times they said "Sir do you know why I stopped you?" Key emphasis on SIR!

" I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to! "

Okiedude, your exactly right. After a Cop has heard every excuse for so many years, its hard not to think the negative. Again, that doesn't mean a Cop should lower himself to the violators level, but sometimes it hard not to. You can go to any jail or any prison unit and every one of them inside there will tell you that they did nothing wrong or they were set up.

It doesn't matter how many times they stop somebody or how many BS stories they get. They're still public servants! If the person being stopped is not mouthing off, then there is no reason for the police to do so. If they can't comprehend that, then it's time to look for a new job!

Bank, I dont mean any disrespect but as a bank auditor, you dont go to every bank thinking this could be my last bank I walk into, this guy in here could shoot and kill me before I can even say hello.
Police Officers think that with every traffic stop, every family violence call every single contact they make. If the Officer isnt thinking that, THEN he needs to get into a different line of work. My motto every day as I start my patrol car is I will be coming home to my wife and kids today, what ever it takes. And if that means pissin a punk kid off who broke the law in the first place, then so be it.
One of my best friends and huntin partner who is now a Sgt. in the Texas Rangers once told me that in order to survive in the world of Policing, you need to think of every stop as this guy is gonna try to kill me. THEN you will be a safe and LONG LIVING Police Officer.
Again, I cannot stress enough how important it is for a Police Officer to keep his or her professionalism when dealing with the public. But just because one person has a bad experience with a Police Officer, civilians are to quick to judge every other Police Officer. Next time you sit down with your co-workers to eat or even sit down to lunch by yourself, just remember, 2 million Police Officers who just had their plate put in front of them in some little diner or cafe had to tell the waitress "Can you stick this in a box, I just got another call and have to run" and enjoy the fact that you get sit there and eat with no disturbance while that Police Officer is out there saving your family or friends.

dont talk to me about putting there lifes on the line! i lost vision in my right eye in Iraq beacause of an IED exploding, when your buddy cop wants to trade lemme know. You know what it's like walking the streets wondering if every car you walk by is going to explode and kill you and all your friends? lets just say i was a 26 year old Staff Sgt in the U.S. Army. trust me i know all about what it's like to have to put your life on the line. doesnt mean i dont have better things to do than go harrass sombody that is trying to enjoy there toy's cuz they rode down the side of there street to get home after riding to a buddy's house.
