Default How much is reed conversion, TB 250?

I just ordered the RCR low/mid stage 1 kit for my 01 trailblazer. I didn't do the porting and head milling yet though. I probably will end up spending the $300 on it from Rick Ritter soon, but wanted to feel each stage, and see what does what. How much will the reed conversion cost, and will this work with the RCR stuff? I'm sure I will need a new piston as well. Just want to know some costs and advantages and disadvantages. thanks guys! Justin

any company names or websites? What about gains etc.. Would I be better off just getting Rick to port it, and not do the reed mod? Rick claims 34 hp with pipe and port and head done. Or just 29 with just the pipe stage 1 kit. That is still a 24% gain with just the stage 1. That should be a pretty big 'seat of the pants' gain.

I think the only company to make a reed conversion now is AZBADBOYZ. The one that I have is from
HPD and I don't think they make them any more. Before I had the reed conversion mine had HPD's
race mod kit. There was a big difference after I had the reed conversion installed. Mine has to use
108 or better race gas thats a draw back for me but AZBADBOYZ kit doesn't.

Wow, I just got done talking to badazboys.....I think I'll take a stroker motor! 53+hp!!!! Actually, their reed conversion comes with a wiseco piston etc... and is fairly priced at $525. He has never had anyone run the RCR pipe with it, but I'm sure it would work. He usually uses HPD. He also recommends a stock 400 carb with stock jetting. Sounds like about triple the low end torque, so they recommend going up 1 tooth on the front gear. What do you guys think?

Therer are a couple of people on here that have Azbadboyz reed or stroker kits. So maybe
they will chime in. I would go with AZ and do whatever Dennis recommends. You are not going
to believe the power difference!

did you have to do any cluch work when this was done? i have a cluch spring from rcr installed and was wondering if denis did work to the cluch for the power change. Did you need to do anything extra for the stoker motor? how long did it take to get your motor back? Would you recomend the 7mm or 12mm stroker motor for trail riding. Could i run my tb on like 93octane?

He did the clutch for me he got it close to what i needed. He build mine for MX racing but he told me this was he first one for it. I don't have the stroker but I would think I would get the 7mm cause I belive the 12mm he uses the 300 jug I belive I could be worng but rember hereing that. I have to run 110 in mine but would think he can build them to run 93 just would have less compression. Hope this helps. It tolk him 2 weeks for mine but it was just the topend an clutch an it was durring the racing season. I know right now he is pretty busy so not sure how long it would take.
