i just looked at the hawkeye again and noticed that the clutch cover is alum. vs. plastic. anyone know the reasoning behind this? im guessing it has the same belt system as the rest.

According to ALL-TERRAIN vehicle magazine, December 2006, the new Hawkeye with its 299cc Fuji engine has a New CVT using a sprag one way clutch for engagement.

Looks to me like its designed after last years Phoneix and this years Sawtooth.

The article claims a near 50 mph top speed.

Didn't say anything about mud, they have a few pic of it up in the Mts. with the new X2.

I work at a Polaris dealer and we've only got one in stock and its still on the floor. Were in mostly an agricultural community so not alot of trial riders, where I think this machine will excel for smaller riders.

The machine does have true Polaris 4x4 with a SOHC 2 valve fugi so it should have some getup. I have not got to drive it enough to have and accurate opinion.

Just found this site and really like it. Everyone and work is either a Yamaha or Honda fan.
