I am looking at a '99 SP 500 today with the intent to purchase. The price is $4500, and I am buying from the original owner with about 700 miles. What should I look for, and does it seem to be priced right? I need a 4 wheeler to plow my driveway.

Thanks!

Other than obvious abuse, check for gunk in the radiator. That often gives a hint of if it was mudded a lot. It is hard to get all the mud out of the fins. Engine wise, from what I hear, the 500 engines are about as reliable as they come. Chassis wise, the first thing to work loose if it isn't greased properly is the bottom of the steering stem. It is a plasitc bushing, and if it gets dirt in it, and no fresh grease, they wobble loose pretty fast.
Also check all the CV joint boots. The boots are cheap & fairly simple to replace, but a torn boot may have allowed gunk in the joint, ruining it.
