water on my belt
#1
I am just wandering if anyone else has problems with there bike getting water where the belt is. I keep seeing all these pics with these polaris quads riding through almost seat high water and it does not look like thye are geting stuck but my bike which is an 05 trailboss only 3 months old when I go through a big puddle real fast it gets water in the belt and I am scared to take in deeper water than the footwells is this normal or is there something I can do to make it waterproof so to speak it sucks not being able to get into a little water to get to all of the trails.

I am not real familiar with the trailboss, however, the sportsmans are great. I have been up to my seat in water, and hit deep water wholes at high speeds and never had water in mine sp. Now my grizz and my buddies kq have gotten water in the belts when following my sportsman, so I would think you have a problem.

The water is getting because you are hitting it fast. If you go slower through should not have problem. The water is being splashed up into the underside of plastic an shooting up the air pipe for the belt. Just don't go so fast through it.

i dont know how fast you are going thru the water, but the only problem i ever had is when my gasket was part way out of the clutch cover ( my faut) and ive gone thru at diff speeds on my sportsmans and the t. blazer w/ no slippage.

Actualy your problem is simple. Your clutch cover, intake and clutch exhaust, is completely different from a sportsman. I have an 04 ATP 330 and the clutch exhaust is your problem. On the trail boss and my ATP the clutch exhaust( which is on the left side knee high) is the same. When it comes of your clutch cover it follows your left leg up and then dumps out in your wheel well. There is a design flaw. When you go through a deep puddle or with any kind of speed the tire actually throws the water into your clutch exhaust pipe. and then fills it. If you look at my pics you will see a custom snorkle I have fit to my machine. I own a SP also and the sportsman can still go through water deeper than the ATP. I think there is another different thing with the seal but I dont know why? Good luck

is this after your fitted a snorkle on the exhaust side of your 330? Could you give me some more detail on how to do this snorkle retro-fit? And would you change the way you did it? Thanks for all your help. BTW, I have crossed deep water to the level of the bottom of the seat (running water---river), would your 330 do this before you snorkled it?
Thanks for the info,
