Does anyone know where I can get a better atv mount for our Garmin E-Trex Gps's? I have the Ram handle bar mounts, and the cradles are fine, but it's obvious that the mount for the handle bars is only meant to be used on a bicycle! the ball and socket joints just don't hold up to the abuse of atv trail riding! I dont know what riding you did, but I beat the tar outta my quad in PA a couple of months back with my RAM mount holding my Etrex legend and it worked excellent. Tighten the screws man.

 

Ram makes another mount for the e-trex that mounts to the handle bars using a u-bolt type bolt type setup. I have it for my GPSIII plus, and it works great. Before that I had the same mount you have and it was not good at all.

 

Will the U-bolt style Ram mount attach to the plastic cradle system for the Garmin E-trex series???

 

I bought the etrex bicycle mount, and its works great. You get a new battery cover, which has the mount built in.

you can see my GPS a couple of times in my video, its sitting in that mount.

Honestly though, I was riding pretty hard out in PA a few weeks back and the GPS stayed in the same spot the whole time.

Its worth the extra money.....get it.
