top speed of the 800
Hey stendori, I just ran my 06 800 for the first time on dry ground last night here in MN. It was a gravel road that had just be graded so the gravel was loose and I didn't have the best traction. I got it up to 60 mph on the speedo pretty quick. On a slight downhill I was able to just pass the 60 mark. I was a little unsatisfied with the result. My 02 700 used to make the same run at 62 on its speedo. The 800 was extremly fast to 40 mph though. It does have a winch, and different tires on it so its not stock, but no real performance upgrades. You can check out my pics, but my tires are not much begger than stock except for the width.

They are 26x9.5x12 fronts and 26x12.5x12 rear ITP spidertracs on alloy wheels. They were in the 2002 polaris atv brochure and now are on the polaris clearance web page, they were at over 50%off in Jan. They are not the best but were really cheap for a full set of tires and wheels. I just wanted something wider in the front for the snow around here.

Trailbound, your brushguard looks AWESOME ! You could give the accessory dept. at Polaris a lesson on how a quad should be dressed out . I really like your rear bumper - the one Polaris offers covers up that sweet dual exhaust on the 800. Could you make me one of your custom bumpers ??

With mine, I notice a HUGE power loss when the temps go up.
For example: In the winter, if I peg the throttle from a dead stop, it will flip over backwards if I don't let off. But in the summer, on a 70 degree day peg the throttle and it won't hardly pick up the front wheels.
The EFI is pretty rich from the factory, which is a good thing for adding mods (bad for stock!). I'd bet my top speed is much higher in winter than summer.
