I have used it. It is a good clutch BUT, it is a pain in the *** to tune. Can't say that I gained any top end speed over a well tuned stock . |The one really nice thing about it is it has lasted alot longer then stock. I had to put in a spacer so it would engage right and use much heavier weights or a lighter spring and lighter weights. I used a silver and the hpd blue. I also tried the dark blue polaris spring but it was to much. The weights I used were between 10-al 10-54, 10-56,10-58,60 and s55. What I ended up with was the silver spring and s55, but it could have been better.

Thanks Matt! So I'm wondering if I just bolt it on out of the box is it going to perform OK... or should I bring my old one as a backup?

i would like to know a lil more on the comet clutch too. for the $315 bucks or so to bolt on out of box with higher speed and better performance would be nice, but does it really do that?

RCR has my motor and carb to fix it up for me, just got to pay him to get it back, had the cash when i sent it then car/bike/home insurance robbed me couple days before he finished it.

need advise on clutching a 250 runnin a dg pipe, oil eliminator, starter eliminator, shaved head, lumberjack 22x11x10 rear and a rejetted larger carb, still waitin on rick to tell me what carb/jetting i'll be runnin. p.s. its turnin into a pretty mean 3 wheeler.

i just remember a new guy that does scrap just moved in the shop next to me, he has a big scale, im gonna weigh the bike tonight and get back to ya, but it won't have gas or the motor in it

Terry,
When tuned right the Comet will be faster. I have a lightly used one that I can sell you for less $.
