Default Ordering new X2. X2 owners inside.

You guys are really making me feel good about the X2. My wife and I both are about to bust waiting for it to get here. They are apparently selling them as fast as they can get them built. My dealer said that the one that has my name on it is the only one that he can get his hands on in the foreseeable future. He also said that he has people dropping in/calling daily just wanting to see one. I helped my brother install the winch, brush guard, rear bumper, Jamhard radiator guard, and he put his lock and ride hard box on his 06 800 Camo yesterday. I have been daydreaming about how cool the X2 will look with the winch, brush guard, and Jamhard on it. I will be preoccupied and worthless until it gets here.

Just a warning to all X2 drivers with or planning to install a winch. The hook should be retracted in until the it is snug against the rollers (fairlead). This will keep it from rattling and scratching your brushguard. This is also a real clever way to remove your rear window as you load up in your truck. I 'm just glad my Nissan had a slide rear window. Only one of the four panes was broken. Ventilation was improved immediately but not recommended during Jan.
I know have blocks in place to save the window. The X2 front end is much taller than a sport machine. The winch makes it longer, too. Jeff

Thanks for the heads up Jeff. I am fabricating a loop to mount on one of the fairlead bolts to hang the hook so that I can leave the rope sleave on and not have to worry about the slack. I hate to hear about your truck window. Mine is not an original idea. Don't feel too bad, you're not the only guy to ever break a window.

One more reminder: The yellow button activated with your left thumb does more than toggle your dash gauge menu through its pages. It is also a reverse throttle override. If you get stuck and need to back up, reverse only rotates your two rear tire. To engage all four tires in reverse you need to press and hold the yellow button down. Doesn't sound like much but...it is. Also when you press the button and hit the throttle you have full power available. Not recommended. Ride on, Jeff

I realized that the yellow button also allows AWD in reverse on Fri ... I was happy about that. The dealer did not tell me anything about it other than the speed override and cluster selection functions. I also realized how tall it sits in the bed of my truck ... was going to get a toolbox for the bed, but after measurements I found out the X2 will not fit in the bed ... haha ...

I need to see some of these X2's with the accessories on them and get some info ... I really want to get front and rear guards and possibly something to cover the battery (since it is in a rather vunerable location.

When is there a group ride coming up ... I need to go check the "rides" section !!!

If you go to the Polaris website and accessorize an X2, I believe they will send you a coupon for $100 worth of accessories. I haven't read all the small print yet. Have any of you added any skid plate add ons?

I just picked up my new x2 last thurs. So far no probs with 45 miles of awd n the black muck mud near my creek. Cutting trails to ride the new toy. I did notice a hot plastic smell the 1st couple days but after looking it over the nearest i can tell is it just the fresh paint curing a bit under the heat of the engine. Ive found no melted plastic and the smell is about gone. Starts like a dream and its been 32 degrees in the morning here. No stalls. No warning lights. Ive also bought a 60 inch finish mower (front mount), so ill be working this machine mowing my 3 acre lawn. Ill post any probs that occur in the future but so far so gooooooood . lol. Happy ridin'

The smell was just the exhaust "burning" in ... no worries there ... I was looking at the finish mower too ... let us know how it works out (thinking ... future buy).

I have been looking for skid plates to come out too ... keep an eye out, they have to be releasing some soon!! woohooo!!

Hey guys, ive got some more interesting info for you.
Been doing some research on the forums, and apparently the bumper panel that covers the winch opening can now be bought pre-molded so you dont have to cut it youself. Cutting it is a pain in the butt, trust me.
I just ordered mine, ill let you know if i get the right thing when it arrives (7 days)
Funny thing is its not on the polaris website, even when you search for it by part number. I double checked with the parts guy and with a mechanic, so im pretty sure they both didnt screw up.
You wont believe the price either.........$5.95 even the dealer was shocked. We'll see.
Its part number 2875836 winch panel.

Good luck, ill let you know what i get.

Has anyone found a rear bumper/brusguard/something to cover up the back of the X2? I've been looking all over and cant find one.
