Gorilla winches from Ebay. Check them out!!!

Cboelman, Went riding with friends today. They have warn winches with the warn mount on their sportsman atv's.When they saw the mount that's on my sportsman( the one I got from you ) they liked it better than the warn mount because, your mount (the one on my sportsman)sets the winch back into the mount hole father than the waren mount.I must say I was impressed with the gorilla winch today. It pulled my atv and a guy on a dirt bike out of a tough spot.I may take the 30ft. cable off & install 50 ft. don't know why they only come with 30 ft.

I think they look great without it (see the pics of my 800) and I have heard allot of problems with them falling of while riding after they have been cut. Most of the Polaris Dealers do not even cut them. The templates that are in the kit are for the Warn 2.5. With the Gorilla it is about 1/2 farther than the warn on the clutch side.

I agree with you........I think they look "cobbled" with that foolish plate cut and stuck back in. I think they look muck better with it left out just like yours. BTW.......I bought a KFI mount about a year ago for my machine and mounted my Ramsey 3000lb unit in it......sweeeeeet. Thanks for the excellent mount..........much better than the OEM.

Any more info on these winches and mounting them to an older 2002 sp700 either in the winch hole in the front bumper or under it in front of the radiator?
thanks,
Jim

As stated before on a 2002 Sportsman 700 you will need to mount it down below by the radiator. It will not fit in the winch pocket. Your Best bet for a cheap priced winch is to get a Venom winch. They will fit in the pocket of the 2002 700.
Hope this helps

Thanks guys.
I dont mind mounting it under the bumper in front of the radiator or even on the rear, just want a decent quality winch.
cboelman,
what mount plate does the Venom take and is it as good as the Gorrilla winch?
Bob, I'll check that out but i beleive the '04 mounts are different from the '02-03.
