Has anybody bought a pair of EPI Front Strut Springs and installed them, if so how is the ride and did they help with bottoming out due to extra weight ,Winch,Brushguard.Any replies appreciated.Thanks.

 

I've not installed them but I can tell you the EPI front springs are rated at 120 in/lbs over the 77 in/lbs stock springs. There rear springs are 140 in/lbs over the 100 in/lbs stock spring. I think bytor is going for the MV7 springs and I'm considering that direction also but we're waiting for some info from someone who has done the update and what they think.

 

Yea, the ride is a little stiffer, but not bad. During high speed runs on rocky terrain the suspension bounces around a little more but the quad still tracks straight. Best part is I can approach and launch off trail obstacles like logs and large rocks like never before.

I'm sure the EPI springs will take care of 99% of the bottoming out due to extra weight up front. I installed the lift at the same time, so I definitely have enough clearance.

 

How does the bike take the corners now. Does it atill feel like it going to roll or does the front end track better.

 

Matt, the heavy duty EPI springs do stiffin up the suspension and reduce body roll, however what really made a difference on my 600 was the wider stance from the offset of the ITP rims and the stiff sidewalls from my 6-ply 589's

I believe your 06 has radial tires. I don't know if the radials lend to the feeling of rolling over, but aftermarket offset rims or wheels spacers will help in that department. You can also experiment going up with the preload adjusters on your rear shocks. Stiffer rear shocks do help with body roll and will effect how the front end handles.
