Can someone tell me what type of oil Polaris recomends for the transmission in a 1989 trail boss 2x4 Thanks.

The only stuff Polaris recommends is Polaris synthetic chaincase lube. I don't know what other people might recommend. I do know that it is kind of a unique stuff. Thicker than ATF, runnier than gear lube. I wouldn't have any idea of anything you could substitute, and would have to recommend the Polaris stuff. Maybe someone else will have an idea.

The newer bikes uses the synthetic stuff that's a mystery. I had a 93 250 2x4, and I believe the owners manual said to use straight 30 in the transmission.
